thursday

that awkward moment when states rape vagina owners.
can’t believe this shit is happening. can’t believe how little regard this country has for women and vaginas. then again, what can I expect from a country that gives misogynistic assholes so much power?

here-is-the-place:

When people say these books are children’s books, as if to demean them, I balk. These books dealt with themes that adults do not fully understand or wish to. It dealt with racism, classism, sexism, homophobia, prejudice, and general ignorance. These books taught us that it doesn’t matter how you were raised, but that you get to choose to be kind, loyal, brave, and true. They taught us to be strong under the pressures of this world and to hold fat to what we know to be right. These books taught me so much, they changed me as a person. So just because they’re set against a fantastical backdrop with young protagonists does not mean that their value is any less real.

When I studied in Tokyo a year and a half ago, my soundtrack for exploring the craziest city in the world was the 500 Days of Summer soundtrack and Hoodie Allen’s “Pep Rally”.
At the time no one I knew had heard of him. Which made the fact that I was jammin’ on the train platform to “You Are Not A Robot” all the more weird. But I tweeted at him that I was in Japan listening to his music and he responded and it blew my mind. And now he’s famous and still responds to all his fans.
Basically I love him. Despite the minor flaw that he was a Penn student. It’s just whacky to see how he’s blown up recently. I love it.
Also his album is $5. So that’s pretty awesome.
